| Come join us for our ever popular Spring
rides for both road and mountain bicyclists. We are doing the festival over
2 days this year so if you choose you can do both rides! This year we are
basing the festival out of Frank Lane Park which is right in the town of
Julian in a very nice setting. Walk to stores, shops and restaurants without
having to get in your car! On Saturday May 5th we offer our 58 mile road course which is a classic course for the experienced cyclist. This incredibly scenic loop goes through Cuyamaca Park then to Pine Valley before you begin your 11 mile 2300 foot climb to the top of Mount Laguna. The first rider to the top wins our King of the Mountain award. Your final 20 miles back to Julian is a mostly downhill blast where you will be greeted back with Julian Pie and Ice Cream along with refreshments. Distance 56 miles with 5000 feet of elevation gain. New this year is a 40 mile course that goes up to Mt. Laguna and back. Much easier than our 58 mile loop yet it is still fun, scenic and challenging! On Sunday May 6th we offer our Mountain Bike ride on our ever popular 22 MTB classic course which starts in Julian and heads out towards Cuyamaca before it descends down to the tiny town of Banner. From there you have a 1300 foot 3 mile climb back up to Julian where you will be greeted back with Julian Pie and Ice Cream along with refreshments. There should be plenty of wildflowers and spring greenery. Total distance 22 miles, with 2400 feet of elevation gain. For those who plan on riding the Julian 7500 Death March next year this is the second loop, and a great way of getting to pre ride a section of the course.
