2008 Tour of Borrego Hillclimb Results

2008 Gave us EPIC conditions. Cool to cold temperatures, headwinds and snow at the top greeted this year's crop of die hard racers. Surprisingly 16 riders showed up to race in spite of the very challenging conditions. Last year's winner Steve Gordon was unable to attend due to to a lingering injury. Here is to wishing him the best in his recovery and hoping he will join us in future years.

Drew Peterson pretty much led from start to finish but 2nd place finisher, Tom Schwartz stayed with him the whole way up. Drew nipped Tom at the finish line for a well deserved 1st place finish. This is the first time Drew has broken into the winners circle after contending strongly the last few years.

Kevin McNulty a top time trialer powered his way up the mountain for an outstanding 3rd place finish. No doubt, he turns out more watts than any other competitor.

Herb Johnson, a power climber finished a strong 4th and is possibly the finest athlete in the group when you consider that he is 20 to 30 years older than the riders who finished in front of him!

Winner of the women's division was Adrienne Brian who made it 3 years in a row.

The Junior division winner was Jeff Wilson who turned in a great time.

It is never too early to start training. See you next year!
